Always opportunistic, scammers have jumped to take advantage of the unwary consumer yet again. Everywhere we look these days we see offers for free tax filing and free tax software. You can't turn on a TV or radio without hearing it. You can't go online without seeing it. And, free tax preparation, free tax filing free software offers could be showing up in your email inbox as well.
As always, with email, be wary.
Wallet Pop reports that some of these email offers are phishing attempts by scammers hoping to entice the recipients into sharing their personal information, likely for the purpose of identity theft.
